About & Method
This archive is designed as a verifiable record. The method is simple: collect original documents, preserve provenance, and annotate where interpretation begins.
Primary vs. Archive Hosts
Some documents are hosted on community archives such as StansLegacy. When a document is primary—such as a patent PDF or a contemporaneous newspaper scan—we treat the document itself as primary while labeling the host as an archival mirror.
Evidence Rules
- If a claim is supported by a primary document, it is documented and cited.
- If a claim lacks primary documentation, it is explicitly labeled as an allegation.
- Suppression or shutdown claims require court orders, agency records, or contemporaneous press.
Provenance
Every downloaded file is logged with date and source URL in research/sources/sources-log.md. This makes the archive auditable and repeatable.
OCR & Quotation
Grove City Record scans are OCR’d for discovery. OCR text is machine-generated and must be verified against the original scan before publishing exact quotations. Gemini OCR spot checks are used to improve confidence but do not replace manual verification.
